THE DEATH OF THE COIN INDUSTRY

Every day it seems coins are becoming more and more obsolete. The use of credit and debit, the elimination of large quantities of circulating coins and the allowance of our country not to crack down on counterfeit coins has made the collecting of coins an obsolete hobby.
It seems that our entire economy is based on credit and children no longer ask for an allowance in money but a deposit on their debit cards.
It is unfortunate to see this happening and as we are approaching a cashless society a little bit more of the life we grew up with is disappearing.

CLEVELAND ONE IS OUT

The first term of  the Grover Cleveland presidential dollars is out and soon the man's second term will follow
His portrait will appear the other way in the second series and if this bores you as much as myself I do not blame you. However, the series will soon get better and you will be glad at some point you obtained some.
I AM ONLY THE MESSENGER.

ACADIA IS OUT

The next America The Beautiful Quarter is being released with the shores of
Maine . It features a lighthouse from Acadia National Park and it is a great representation.
The mint is offering them at the present or soon you can purchase them from coin shows.
Please remember due to budget cutting the presentations of the coins  are no longer held at the sites.
It is unfortunate so many coins are being released now with no fanfare and the public's interest in the series is down to zero.
I for one am keeping up with the series and will continue to purchase a series of coins that will have a low mintage and low level of interest. I always have swum upstream and can only hope these coins will be a fruitful investment down the road.
It is my readers call if they follow my lead.

AN UPDATE ON PRESIDENTIAL DOLLARS

Perhaps the government is serious about saving money because the new presidential dollars for the year are out with a premium on their backs. The first two coins are now released and come with a heavy premium.
Grover Cleveland is now out in rolls from the mint or can be purchased at some coin stores.
With the releases now at very low mintages and with no fanfare they are only being collected by coin enthusiasts.
This may be an avenue down the road to make some money because if people want the entire series at some point it will be quite expensive to obtain all the coins.
As mentioned in previous posts the modern presidents we have grown up with are still going to be released and the old rules of waiting for someone to be dead for a number of years might be abolished.
These coins could be an ugly duckling series and I advise my readers to obtain a couple of rolls as a long term investment.

A TIP FOR MY READERS

Silver is down to about $26.00 an ounce.Without going into to much detail I am urging my reader's to buy as much as you can afford at the present prices. Whether you buy bars or coins it makes no difference.
In my opinion you will not be sorry.

PRICE INCREASE FOR PRESIDENTIAL DOLLARS

The presidential dollars are available with a new twist. They can only be purchased in rolls from the mint or at coin shows and are available with a nice premium. For those readers who are collecting them do not go to your bank any longer.
The government is trying to recoup the billions it lost on the former presidents and will no longer just give them away.

SAY HELLO TO CHACO

A new America The Beautiful Quarter is out and is very impressive. It features the Chaco National Park in New Mexico. The quarter features two kivas which are ancient gathering places for the inhabitants of the area and a canyon wall.
For those readers who have ever entered one you will never forget the experience. They were used as meeting rooms for the inhabitants and, in my opinion, are similar to hot tubs found in modern times.
