I TOUCHED THE CIVIL WAR

Today while going through a bag of coins I found a FLYING EAGLE coin from 1858.Although heavily worn it struck me it not only lived through the Civil War but every event since that time.
Imagine the stories behind its years and it is now living in my home for a few years before it will be off for new adventures.
Just imagine what an ancient coin has been through.

THE END OF THE PRESIDENTIAL DOLLARS

The presidential dollar coin program is coming to an end for circulating coins. However, they will still be minted for collectors and this might be a blessing in disguise for the entire series because they will now be minted just for the people who want them.
They will probably be harder to find but when the entire series is completed will still make a very presentable book.
I urge the readers of this blog to continue forward and you will have an awesome collection when the series is completed.

President Garfield Awaits You

The last presidential quarter is out for the year and it happens to be James Garfield.
The government should limit the amount they mint because they are not circulating very well and only hobbyists seem to give a damn.

Where the hell is Chickasaw?

Irregardless of where Chickasaw is located the quarters are now out .
However ,if you must know it is in Oklahoma and sounds like a great place to visit with natural springs.

A NEW PRESIDENTIAL COIN

The Haye's presidential dollar has just arrived.as usual I suggest a roll or two for your collection.
There is talk of stopping the series permanently because of a giant backlog of these coins the government must store.
In my opinion they will probably keep the series going for collectors but cut the mintage to a very low level. It will be interesting to see if this becomes the uncompleted series.
However, this is no reason to stop. There are a great many coins in the series already and they will remain collectible.
